Rain-man ballad

 Those who've seen the Rain-man
Sneaking out at night,
Incognito on his scooter,
Say it's the strangest sight

Thus disguised with helmet
He scooters forth anew,
Even though it's walking distance
To the lieu de rendezvous

Such affairs are secret,
If affairs of State
Should be so dissimulated
And held to be private

Discretion is the essence,
One's facade of probity
Seems to be far more important
Than one's security

'Mustn't forget the croissants'
(Such thoughts traverse his mind)
More urgent affairs of State
One then would never find.
